Rocky Fork Lake has a minimum size limit of 12" for bass. The many streams and inlets with a lot of shallow structure and weedbeds have been producing nice bass so far. Working the deepr structure and drop-offs with crankbaits is hit and miss at times but occaisonally produces nice largemouth. Crappie minimum size is 9" and are being caught with live minnows and artificial tubes and jigs. Catfishing at night using live bait has produced several nice fish. Some of the larger catfish are caught in the shallows.
Paint Creek Lake
Paint Creek Lake has a minimum size limit of 15" for bass. Over the past few years this seems to have really helped out with the size and quality of bass caught. Largemouth caught in the 12-15" range are now much more common. Larger bass are being caught with crankbaits fishing near drop-offs and submerged structure while others are finding success near weedy shorelines and shallows with rubber worms. Crappie minimum size is 9" and are being caught with live minnows and artificial tubes and jigs. Catfish bite is best at night using live bait. Several nice cats have been reported this year.
